Who Beyond Med Is For - and When It May Not Be the Right Fit

Beyond Med May Not Be the Right Fit for a Member If...

You are looking for a replacement for health insurance. Beyond Med cannot replace health insurance. It does not insure members, pay claims or provide protection against emergency, hospital, inpatient or catastrophic medical expenses. If you need comprehensive medical coverage, speak with a licensed insurance professional or visit the appropriate health insurance marketplace.

The care you want is not available through a participating provider. The value of any discount plan depends on the providers and services available where you live or receive care. Before enrolling or scheduling a service, search the Beyond Med provider network or ask the Concierge Team whether an appropriate participating provider is available.

You expect Beyond Med to reimburse your medical expenses. Beyond Med does not reimburse members or pay providers. Members pay participating providers directly according to the provider's normal self-pay process and receive the agreed member pricing for participating services.

You are unlikely to use the participating services. Beyond Med creates value when members actively use the program. If none of the available service categories are relevant to you, or you do not plan to search for participating providers, the benefit may not be useful for your needs.

You need a guaranteed provider or exact savings amount. Providers, services and member prices vary by location and may change. Beyond Med can help you understand available options, but we do not promise that a particular provider or service will always be available or that every member will save the same amount. Confirm the current member rate with the participating provider before receiving care.

You are looking for an alternative to offering health insurance. Beyond Med is a supplemental benefit, not major medical insurance. It is most effective when positioned alongside an employer's existing benefits and clearly communicated as a way to access additional services at member pricing.

Your employees are not interested in the available services. A broad benefit is not automatically a relevant benefit. If employee interest is low across the services available through Beyond Med, participation may be limited. Understanding employee needs is an important part of evaluating fit.

You want a benefit that requires no member engagement. Members need to search for participating providers, identify themselves as Beyond Med members and pay the provider directly. Clear enrollment communication and ongoing member education help employees understand when and how to use the program.
